For a good part of my life, I have trained in the martial arts. I feel very fortunate to have found Sugar Land Mixed Martial Arts. Facilities: They have the largest matted areas I have ever seen in a Martial Arts gym, a workout area complete with free weights, power rack, pull-up bars, medicine balls, and separate locker rooms for men and women. One new addition I look forward to is their pro shop on-site that sells equipment like gloves, mouthguards, handwraps, clothing, and more. For beginner students, the school has “community” gloves and pads, so buying equipment upfront is not mandatory. Atmosphere: From the instructors to the students, the general impression is one of positivity within the school. There has been an ever present air of mutual respect since the first day I was greeted at the front door. Offered Class's: They have an extensive class selection, some of which can not be offered by any other schools in the area. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seems to be the core strength of the school but, there is no loss of attention to detail in the other classes. Scheduled classes are offered every week in the follow disciplines: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Wrestling Muay Thai Boxing (Traditional Western) MMA Conditioning Cardio Conditioning MMA Kali Jeet Kune Do Rapid Assault Tactics Little Dragons (kids) Another thing I like about Sugar Land Mixed Martial Arts is that they offer a free trial classes. Physically, I have lost around 45 pounds since joining. Yes, my diet has helped me, but I also give most of the results to the training at Sugar Land Mixed Martial Arts.
